15/11/07 We now have your anniversary brooch completed,

I think your mum will be pleased, it looks great, like an antique, but new, the emeralds go well with the rose and white gold in the crop and stirrup.

I have modified the design slightly as to how the stirrup joins the crop  but nothing major.The remaining balance of $200.00 +gst can either be paid through the web site or when as you suggested, you pick up from us in Wellsford.

Hi again, have made up a few more examples,using the crop and stirrup design with emeralds only.

Emeralds will be 2.5 -3mm rounds,if we go any smaller in stone size the stones become rather insignificant and because of that fact setting them within the narrow parts of this design is not really possable, hence the various setting combinations which can be mixed or used as pictured.

Prices for these will be about $400.00 +gst ,depending on the number of stones. I imagined the crop in 9ct. rose and white golds and the stirrup in yellow gold.

I will set up a deposit amount for $200.00 on this page, which can be paid through our secure payment system  with your credit card.

When completed I will place a photo of the completed item on this page.

With the balance  paid I can send the item on to you.

You have asked for ideas on an anniversary brooch with a horse theme and including emeralds.We have drawn up a few designs here for you to look over, I have also included a picture from an antique catalogue, where we have derived some of these idea's, to give you an impression  of the finished item.We would make the brooch in 9ct gold and we suggest a mix of rose, white and yellow golds, which would look very effective.Some of these designs include small diamonds to complement the emerald.

About Emeralds:

Emeralds are a beautiful stone,they belong to the "Beryl" family of stones which include emerald and aqua marine, these stones are hard but brittle, with good quality stones being rare and expensive.Genuine emeralds even good ones often have inclusions or marks within the stone which can make them subject to breakage during the wear and tear that most jewellery items  go through.

Because of these limitations and because of the desirability that emeralds still have in the market, created or man made emeralds have for many years been an acceptable option.These stones are made of the same material found in a natural gem stone, but formed with heat and pressure in a controlled process.Stones have the advantages of exeptional colours, with little or no inclusions and a reasonable price.

Your budget of $500.00 would cover any of these designs,using the "created stones" option, if you require "genuine" stones I would need to quote on the individual style you choose.
