New Zealand green stone (Nephrite Jade)

Maoris name Pounamu(po naa mu).
This pendant is carved from "flower' or Marsden" greenstone, has  mixs of light and dark moss greens with yellow, colouration, very unique and very beautiful.

Carved and shaped to form an adze or Toki pendant, measures 5cm. long x 2cm wide(2"inch x 7/8").

This pendant features a tightly woven corded top, hung on an easily adjusted cord.
Traditionally the Toki or adze head was a work tool used for chopping, shaping and carving.
When worn it represents the potential,

where men and women rightly and fairly govern, serve and lead others, true wisdom, authority and leadership, will be given.
